We are an English family with three children who left the UK over eight years ago to live and work in France. We are Elaine and Richard Woollam, our son, now 21 is at university in Toulouse, whilst our two daughters 17 and 19 are at Lycee in Montauban studying sales and marketing.

We are the owners and managers of Midi Pyrenees Owners Club which we have just started, having run Saint Antonin Noble Val Owners Club since 2002. We chose to be fully insured and registered with a Siret number and we only use registered and insured local craftsmen (artisans).

We live permanently in the town of Saint Antonin Noble Val in the Midi Pyrenees and since starting this small family business have helped numerous people to settle into their new homes or ensured that their holiday properties are well maintained and secure, and that guests are cared for.

We are now key holders for over 27 properties and maintain or assist with a further 5 properties and our clients are happy to supply testimonials directly to new customers should they require them.

We have been through the entire French bureaucracy, from schools, colleges and now lycee, registering cars, driving licences, claiming family allowance, titre de sejours, home, building and company insurance, national insurance, French medical cover and mutual top up, and of course lots of notaires. In other words there is nothing as a family we have not done.

We have fantastic relationships with our local artisans, tried and tested on our own home and very proud of the quality of their work.

Our clients are varied and all have different requirements but our aim is to provide the best service possible and offer feedback to absent owners. This we do via telephone and email and when work is in progress with digital photographs.

Just as a matter of interest, when we set out on this adventure, I asked the kids to keep a diary of their experiences, their thoughts, their fears and promised that neither Elaine nor I would read them unless invited to. They then said if they had to write it all down, so should I so I did. I have started to publish the diary of our move from the UK to this wonderful part of France, as a Blog...if you are interested its here French Times
